Una forma nell’assenza

Cristina Escobar | Delphine Gatinois

Art in general, the artistic performance, the migratory phenomenon, the city of Lucca, the beauty of the city walls and Palazzo Ducale are the main “ingredients” of the cultural project “Una forma nell’assenza” promoted by the association Le Mètre Carré in collaboration with Terzopiano Arte Contemporanea and the Cresci Foundation for the history of emigration and with the patronage of the Province and Municipality of Lucca and the support of Caritas, the Italian Red Cross, the Odissea and Arci cooperative

The exhibition at Palazzo Ducale is the ideal landing place for these objects brought by the migrants and by the French artists of the project Cristina Escobar and Delphine Gatinos, all protagonists of a sort of homage to migrants who have not made it and to those who are managed to arrive in Italy and to integrate even if painfully. Objects as collective emblems, identifying signs of a new royalty: that of migrants and their epics brought to the parade and then exhibited in the Sala del Trono to which the artifacts of Emmanuelle Potier, in marble that look like spins, will stand out, in wood and metal with flags of the EU symbol of the construction and deconstruction of Europe in a circular movement inspired by the traditional dance of Cinta.
